Attendees of the Iowa Picnic in Bixby Park. Many of the people have their backs to the camera. A woman wearing a hat sits on a chair at the right. A woman in the center is in motion and therefore blurry. There are trees throughout and a sign posted on a palm tree at the left.
Text from negative sleeve: 1343. Iowa State picnic Long Beach Calif. Aug. 13, 1938. One a palm tree was a sign reading "Montgomery County." Five views taken of this and not a single person can I now identify. 5 films.
