Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Though the negative sleeve indicates that this is a photograph of Alice Baltzell Tibbetts, Leta French, and Will Biddick, it does not, in fact, appear to include Mrs. Tibbetts and Mr. Biddick. Leta French speaks to other attendees of the Iowa Picnic in Lincoln Park. Ms. French is second from the right and she looks at a book that the woman on the far right is showing her. She wears a flat hat with a wide brim. Another man and woman also look on. There are other people behind them, and a man on crutches at the left. There are trees in the background, as well as a sign at the top of a wooden pole. Text from negative sleeve: 1353. Iowa State picnic Lincoln Park. Los Angeles. Feb. 25, 1939. 1. Helen May (Miller) Cook with the Puritan hat. 2. Small film. The daughter of Alice Baltzell. 3. Large film. L to R: Alice Baltzell [handwritten:] Tibbets [sic]. Fannie Mead Biddick. William Biddick. 4. Large film. L to R: Alice Baltzell [handwritten:] Tibbets [sic] is talking to Leta French. Will Biddick at right. 4 films.
