Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of two bears walking across a dirt road as they approach a group of cabins that stand in the Old Faithful area of Yellowstone. The road stretches across the foreground on a slight upward angle from right to left. Two bears walk away from the camera as they approach a small group of cabins in the distance. The bear nearest to camera is right-of-center and the one walking ahead of him is at center. Three cabins stand ahead of them, nestled among pine trees. A car is parked between the rightmost cabin and the cabin at center. Additional cabins are barely visible in the distance. Text from negative sleeve: 1586. Yellowstone trip 1942. Tuesday, June 23, 1942. The housekeeping cabins at Old Faithful Inn, Yellowstone. We had one of these cabins and here are 4 pictures of the bears at and around the garbage cans. 4 films. [Note: In all instances of the year date, 1942, the last digit (2) is handwritten over a typed 3.]
