Photograph of the Deschutes River flowing over Sherars Falls. The river flows from the background at center towards the camera. It curves towards foreground at right as it cascades over low falls. The valley floor extends to the left the falls in the foreground. Mountains rise in the distance.
Text from negative sleeve: 1600. Yellowstone trip 1942. Sunday, June 28, 1942. 1. Shearer's [sic] Bridge, Oregon, on Des Chutes River. The falls, looking up stream from a point just above the bridge. Here is where the horses father says ran into the river and were swept over the falls to death. 2. 3. Two views, one with our Buick, of the Des Chutes River, just above the falls, which are just above Shearer's [sic] Bridge. Here is where the Butler train crossed, so far as we can determine from father's description. 3 films [Note: In all instances of the year date, 1942, the last digit (2) is handwritten over a typed 3.]
