Description

A blurry and out-of-focus photograph of La Crescenta Building standing on the far side of North Broadway (formerly Downey Avenue) near the Avenue 22 (formerly Truman Street) intersection. North Broadway spans the foreground. On the right side of the street, a large 2-story building lines the street. Cars are parked, front to back, in front of the building, facing towards the back of the image. Utility poles stand on either side of the building. At left, a car is parked in partial view along the left edge and faces towards the camera. Behind it, another car drives down North Broadway towards the camera. Buildings line the left side of the road as it curves into the distance. Text from negative sleeve: 1675. Los Angeles, California. Downey Avenue, East Los Angeles, and located at corner Truman street. Now North Broadway and Avenue 22. The La Crescenta Building at right just before it was torn down to make room f [sic] for the new Wolfe building. Taken about 1939. 1 film and 1 photo.
