Lester and Romayne Shaw were the nephews of Mertie Whitaker, who became H. H. West's second wife in the 1920's.
Based on the ages of Lester and Romayne Shaw, and the fact that Romayne Shaw was not born until 1899, the date of this image has been estimated as about 1900, rather than about 1898.
