Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Dining room in the Brown's home. There are dishes in the hutch, as well as on the lower shelf. There is a dining table at the right and a man's leg is visible under the table. Beyond the table, there is another small table with a teapot on it, and a chair next to that. At the left, there is a dining chair and a low table with plants on it. The windows are covered with short curtains. There is a lighting fixture hanging from the ceiling and there are decorated plates propped up toward the ceiling. Text from negative sleeve: 1750. Los Angeles, Calif., about 1900. Magnolia Ave., South. Brown's house. Abe Whitaker contracted with father to build them a home on Griffin Ave. across the street from where we lived. Wanted it built just like Brown's new house out on Magnolia Avenue, near 16th St. I went over and took photos of the house for father to have before him in making up the plans. 1.
