Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Front yard of the West's house at 240 Griffin Avenue. There are three large trees by the street and smaller plants throughout. A path leads from the house to the street. There is a fence at the house next door. Houses across the street are also visible. It appears to be raining or to have recently rained, as the ground looks wet and there may be a puddle by the curb. Text from negative sleeve: 1752. Los Angeles, Calif. 240 South Griffin Ave. 1897. 1. The corner to the south of our house where Woodworth built his home later. Our calf and probably Guy's dog on the lot. Vaughan's house at left. 2. From our front lawn looking up Griffin Ave over Sepulveda's lawn. 3. The Scared Heart sister's school. This picture was taken to get a picture of Eucalyptus leaves close up to send back east to some body who wanted a picture of an eucalyptus tree. 4.
