Guy M. West was H. H. West's brother.
Guy West and his dog stand by a Los Angeles Railway car. "Los Angeles Railway Co. 195" is painted on the front of the car and a sign reading, "East Side Park via Main St." hangs above. The wires for the car are overhead. Guy wears a hat and has his hands in his pockets. In the background, there are houses and fences and a structure with a weathervane on top.
Though the negative sleeve identifies three negatives in this series, only one of them is in the collection.
Text from negative sleeve: 1758. Los Angeles, Calf. 1897. Main street. (Then called Kuhrts st.) 1. Guy M. West and his dog Rover. Taken at the corner of Griffin Avenue and Main street, where we had got off a car. 2. Leslie Smith, brother of Bim Smith, comes in from Pomona on his bicycle to visit us. Leslie and his bike. 3.
