Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. West family sits in their library with Daisy Kellum. There is a fireplace behind Guy West and Arleigh Lemberger, with pictures and other objects on the mantel and above. Pictures hang on the wall. At the right, a curtain partially covers a bookcase. There is an unidentified man standing at the left wearing a bowtie and another man's legs are visible in shadow in the right foreground. Wayne, Wilson, and Guy West were H. H. West's brothers. Nella A. West was their sister and Arleigh Lemberger was their first cousin. Mrs. George M. West (Wilhelmina Lemberger West) was H. H. West's mother. Text from negative sleeve: 1778. Los Angeles, California. 240 South Griffin Ave. December 1900. Daisy Kellum is a visitor at the house. 1. Left to right: Mrs George M. West. Nella A West. Daisy Kellum with back to camera. Guy M. On the wall over Nell's head is the Western Union group picture, and on right side top of mantel is the bunch of lilies I painted when a boy in Red Oak, Iowa. The chromo over the mantel is a couple of bicycle girls out on a tour. I gave this picture to the Sunset Gun Club, and it was hanging in the club house last I saw of it about 1924. 1 film.
