Wilson D. West was H. H. West's brother. Charles Lemberger Rucher was their second cousin.
Charles Rucher and Wilson West stand on the West's front lawn. Rucher wears a hat with an insignia on the front of two crossed guns. Wilson wears a hat and bowtie. He stands behind the post of the steps that lead up to the front porch. There are trees, fences, and houses in the background.
Text from negative sleeve: 1791. Los Angeles, California. 240 South Griffin Ave. about 1900. 1. Wayne W. West getting Daughterty's dog to jump. On our lawn, looking over south west toward the Sisters' School. 2. Charles Rucher out on the lawn, Wilson D. West at extreme right. Looking north up Griffin Avenue. 3. Wilson D. West down on lawn, with Daugherty's dog; Wayne W. West at right. Looking across the street to where the present Whitaker home is now standing.
