Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Wilson D. West and Wayne West were H. H. West's brother. William P. Mead was their first cousin. Mr. and Mrs. George M. West (Wilhelmina Lemberger West) were their parents. According to negative sleeve #1767, Vicente worked for the Sepulveda family (who were the West's neighbors), but her last name was not Sepulveda. William Mead poses in front of the West's porch with the West family in the background. He wears a hat, smokes a pipe, and leans on a cane. Guy has his hands in his pockets and stands on the lawn. Text from negative sleeve: 1797. Los Angeles, California. 240 South Griffin Ave. about 1900. 1. Left to right: Guy M. West on lawn. George M. West. Mrs George M. West. Vicente Sepulveda. Will P. Mead. Wayne W. west seated on porch. Mr. West smokes a pipe. Mrs. West has her arm around Vicente, who has a handkerchief to her nose. There is a vase of flowers next to Vicente, and there is a glass vase with water in it on the post at the bottom of the stairs. There is a small box on the stairs. The neighbor's house is visible at the left.
