Group of children sits on the front steps of the West's house. Most of the children wear white. Mrs. West leans on the porch railing. Ms. Mead leans over next to her. The house number "240" is visible over the front door. There are plants on either side of the steps. A woman's shadow is visible in the foreground.
Text from negative sleeve: 1827. Los Angeles, California. 240 South Griffin Ave. About 1907. A party for the kids. 1. 2. At upper left is Mrs George M. West. Next to her, stooping is Sena Mead. Right down in front looking into the camera is Elizabeth West, and the lowest left hand girl is Frances West. Think that is Paul Mead sitting by the post under his mother Sena Mead. Can't recognize another one now. 2 films. 2 photos.
