Wilfrid Cline sits on a chair reading a book in the West's house at 139 South Daly Street. His legs are crossed. The chair is in the doorway between two rooms and curtains hang on either side. The room behind has a fireplace with a clock on the mantel, bookshelves with pictures propped up on top, and a light fixture hanging from the ceiling.
Text from negative sleeve: 1844. Los Angeles, California. 139 South Daly Street, about 1903. 1. Wilfrid M. Cline, Sr., sitting in the Morris Chair in the library of the new bungalow. The little picture fastened to the wall just above the book case, and to the left of the mantel was a photograph of George M. West, taken about 1865, and the frame was gold plated. We still have the frame at 2223 Griffin Ave., Los Angeles (1943) and at present it holds a photo of H. H. West and his wife Mertie Whitaker West, taken on their wedding trip. The photo of George M. West is in H. H. West, Jr book now at Elizabeth West Siemsens [sic], 1811 Los Encinos Ave, Glendale, Caliof. 1 film.
