Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. John Ernest Teel is the cousin of Mary A. Teel West Shepard and Hattie (Harriet) M. Teel Cline. According to the text from the negative sleeve, this photograph was taken about 1912. This date is incorrect as Ambrose Cline was not born until 1915. Photograph, from left to right, of Gertrude Teel, baby Ambrose Cline, Hattie Cline and John Teel sitting in a field at John Teel's ranch in Chatsworth. The group is gathered together at center. Gertrude Teel sits leftmost on the grass. She rests a hand to her lap as she tilts her head down and to the right. To the right of her, Hattie Cline sits and looks to the camera. John Teel kneels to the right of Hattie and poses for the camera. Baby Ambrose Cline sits on the grass in front of the group, between Gertrude and Hattie. A sapling stands behind and to the left of Gertrude. The field stretches into the distance behind them. Trees line the edge of the field and power lines pass in front of the tree line in the background. Text from negative sleeve: 1876. Chatsworth Park, California. John Teel Ranch, about 1912. 1. 2.
