Gilbert Cecil West stands in the near distance at center. He is dressed in uniform (military) and stands square to camera. The walkway extends from near the lower left corner and up towards the right. A sidewalk runs perpendicular to it behind Gilbert. South Griffin Avenue stretches behind Gilbert on a slightly upward angle from right to left. A car is parked in partial view on the near side of the street at right. Gilbert Cecil West, son of Everett and Myrtle West of Mt Carmel, Illinois, arrives in Los Angeles, en route to Moffet Air Field, Sunnyvale, near San Jose, California.
