Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Mertie Whitaker West was H. H. West's second wife. Gilbert Cecil West was the son of Evert and Myrtle West, and H. H. West's second cousin twice removed. William Roscoe Wright was Gilbert's friend. William Roscoe Wright, Gilbert Cecil West, and Mertie West lean on a railing on the Santa Monica pier. There is a boy on a scooter at the left and other people walking and standing on the pier. Below them, there is a sign reading, "24 Hr. shore-boat excursions. Excursions. Chart boats. Clark Boat Service" and below that, in part, "take that interesting trip out around the fishing barges down to Santa Monica..." At the left, there is an advertisement for the Port Hole Café.
