Gilbert Cecil West was the son of Evert and Myrtle West, and H. H. West's second cousin twice removed.

There is a large palm tree behind them. There are houses visible at the left and other trees beyond. There are power wires above and a car parked down the street.
Text from negative sleeve: 1920. Los Angeles, California. 2223 Griffin Avenue, September 1941. Gilbert Cecil West gets a furlough from Moffett Field, Sunnyvale, San Jose, California and come down with a buddy to visit us. 1. 2. Two pictures, left to right: Gilbert Cecil West. His buddy - forget his name. Staid [sic] all night with us. 2 films.
