Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of the Fire Engine House standing on the northeast corner of the intersection of Pasadena Avenue (formerly Hoff Street) and Avenue 19 (formerly Hayes Street). The fire station is viewed at an angle from the front and the side. It stands on the opposite street corner. A car (partial view) travels to the right (south) along Avenue 19. Avenue 19 stretches on a sharp upward angle from the lower right corner and towards the left. Pasadena Avenue stretches across the mid-ground on a slight upward angle from left to right. In the near distance, the 2-story fire engine house stands at center, facing right. One of the garage doors stands open on the front of the building. A balustrade spans the top of the building with a pediment rising at center. From the pediment, an American flag extends high above the building. A single-story building stands adjacent and to the right of the fire engine house. To the right of it, the brick-front police station stands in partial view at far right. Behind and to the left of the fire engine house, a brick building extends out-of-frame at left. Beyond the buildings, a square tower rises in the distance at left. Text from negative sleeve: 1959.
