Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of Richard Siemsen posing outside Asbury Methodist Church on North Workman Street. Richard Siemsen stands in the foreground at center and looks to the camera. Behind him, Scoutmaster Charles Morgan and Boy Scout Troop no. 76 are loosely gathered by the side of the front steps of the church. A few of the boys hold flags. The front of the church stands behind and to the right of them, facing left. Above the entrance it reads, "ASBURY METHODIST CHURCH." Church attendees stand on the church's front steps, behind the Scouts. A neighboring house (partial view) stands in the background at left. In the lower left corner, a wide streak of white extends up and to the right, obscuring part of the image. Text from negative sleeve: 1981. Los Angeles, California. Asbury Methodist Church on North Workman Street, February 7, 1943. 1. Troop #76 Boy Scouts of America by the steps after the services. Kneeling at left is Scoutmaster Charles Morgan, and next to him is Richard Siemsen, who was in to visit with us and went to Church, and horned in on the souts [sic] when they lined up for the picture. Do not know names of any of the other scouts. 2. Same as above from different angle. 3. Poor film of Richard Siemsen at same time and place. 3 films.
