Photograph of Al Schmitz waiting in a blind on the hunting grounds of the Center Gun Club in Orange County. A circular blind rises just above the ground in the near distance at center. Al Schmitz stands in the middle of it and is visible from the torso up. He rests a hand on the edge of the blind and faces slightly right. To the right of Al, the barrel of a gun pokes out of the blind. Tall grasses cover the marshlands in the foreground; they surround the blind and stretch into the distance.
