West, Jr., Flintrop, Tempie and Bender relaxing in a field of tall grasses while stationed in the Aleutian Islands. H. H. West, Jr. squats down at center and is viewed close-up; he is nearest to camera. He faces left and gazes past the camera as he reaches back to the left and hands a soda to Mark Schwandt. Mark Schwandt is leftmost and sits on the ground, facing right. He smokes a cigarette and gazes towards the left. Behind and to the right of H. H., Jr., Flintrop, Tempie and Bender sit and stand in the near distance. Flintrop stands leftmost of the trio. Either Tempie or Bender sit or stand at far right. All three face towards the right.
