Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of James A. Day standing in front of Shorb Station at the Southern Pacific Railroad employee picnic held at Sycamore Grove Park. James A. Day stands in the near distance at center and looks to the camera. Behind him, Shorb Station stands in the middle of the park. The train-car-sized building is viewed from the short side and extends back towards the left at an angle. A box step sits in front of the open door that is behind James. Patriotic decor covers the perimeter of the structure. Above the door on the near side, a sign reads, "SHORB." Two men stand on the right side of the station. The park extends into the background with trees and benches visible in the distance. Text from negative sleeve: 2122.
