Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. According to the negative sleeve, this set of photographs is captured in color. The scans of these images are in black and white. Photograph of Mertie West standing near a bus parked in front of the cafe in Gold Beach where she and H. H. West stopped during their trip to Alaska. A road stretches through the foreground on an upward angle from right to left. A bus is parked on the far side of the road in the near distance. It is viewed at an angle from the rear and the side; it faces left. Mertie West stands, left-of-center, in front of the back end of the bus. A cafe stands behind the bus and is mostly obscured by it. From the top of the building, a sign jutting out towards the street reads, "GREEN LANTERN CAFE." Text from negative sleeve: 2152 Color. Alaska Trip. Gold Beach, Ore. July 30, 1946. 1.
