Photograph of the Alaska Range, as viewed from Camp Eielson (now the Eielson Visitor Center) in Denali National Park and Preserve. A wide river flows parallel to the bottom edge of the image. Snow-covered mountains rise tall at left on the opposite bank of the river. Shorter mountains line the far distance at right and center.
Text from negative sleeve: 2161. Alaska Trip. Camp Eilsen [sic] Aug.17,1946 1. 21 sheep on side of mountain. 2. Our bus at summit of pass and our road. 3. Some of the scenery. 4. Mertie West looks for Mt McKinley 5. The porcupine we chased up. 6. Doc Beaver and the bus driver Mertie West on bridge. Here is where you could see fish in the stre [sic] 7. A bear feeding on the flat, right center. 8. Same. 9. Doc Beaver gets the porcupine.
