Photograph of the ship, Aleutian, sitting moored at the dock in Metlakatla, Alaska. The ship stretches across the image in the near distance. It enters frame at left and stretches back towards the right, into the distance. The Aleutian is viewed at an angle from the side. Three decks are visible. Lifeboats line the edge of the upper deck. Cranes and rigging stand atop the far end of the ship. At left, 2 people walk down the gangplank from the ship. The gangplank stretches between a promenade deck and the dock. The dock runs parallel to the ship and extends to the right of it. People sit along rails that line the left edge of the dock. All face towards the right. In the foreground at left, a wooden post extends vertically through the image. Mountains and low clouds are visible in the background at right.
