An out-of-focus photograph of Mertie West standing on the curb outside Union Station with luggage upon arrival back in Los Angeles from a trip to Alaska. The driveway in front of the station passes across the foreground. Mertie West stands curbside in the distance at center. Several pieces of luggage sit on the ground in front of her. Other people arriving/departing from Union Station mill about the wide sidewalk. The sidewalk stretches back to a tall arcade comprised of 3 arches standing across the background. It is designed in the Mission Revival style. Distant buildings and trees are visible in the far distance through the archways.
