Mertie West stands in the foreground at left. She faces towards the left and looks back and down at a grave marker to the right. The cross extends up from the ground and across it, it reads, "ROOSEVELT, KERMIT MAJ." Directly behind Mertie and the cross, a gravel drive stretches across the image. On the far side of the drive, crosses standing in rows extend through the cemetery grounds and into the distance. Text from negative sleeve: 2189.
