Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. An out-of-focus photograph of Mertie West and 4 other people standing along the bank of the Yukon River. The bank stretches across the foreground on an upward angle from the lower left corner to the right. The Yukon River flows along the left side of the bank. Mertie West and the others stand in the near distance, off-center to the right. Mertie West stands in the center of the group and faces towards the camera. She stands furthest down the slope of the bank, near the water's edge. A man and a woman stand slightly higher up the slope to the left of her; both stand with the backs to the camera. Two more men stand to the right of Mertie. They too stand up the slope and face away from camera. Distant river banks are visible in the far distance. Text from negative sleeve: 2190.
