Photograph, from left to right, of Mertie West and 2 fellow ship passengers standing on a walkway while visiting Metlakatla, Alaska. A wood plank walkway spans the width of the bottom edge and extends back on a steep upward angle from right to left. In the near distance, Mertie West and 2 other passengers stand along the walkway. Mertie stands at left, faces right and looks slightly towards the camera. At center, the other 2 stand side-by-side one another and face left, towards Mertie. Further down the walkway, a man walks towards the camera. Tall grasses line the right side of the walkway in the foreground. Further back and to the right of the walkway, a couple of buildings stand in a row that recedes back towards center.
