Photograph of 2 directional road signs posted in Death Valley. Two signs stand, side-by-side, at center. The sign at left reads, "[left pointing arrow] STOVEPIPE WELLS.25 SCOTTYS CASTLE.55 UBEHEBE CRATER.58 LONE PINE ...108." The sign at right reads, "THE INN...........1 DEATH VALLEY JCT.... 31 SHOSHONE..58 BAKER........115 [right pointing arrow]." On the ground, behind and between the sign posts, a wagon wheel sits propped up against the posts with its axle facing towards the camera. Dirt and gravel stretch behind the signs in the mid-ground. The back edge of the gravelly area is lined by brush. Mountains rise in the far distance.
