In the near distance, Mertie West and Nita Tribe stand at center. Mertie turns her head towards Nita. Nita looks towards the camera. Behind them stands the office of "WELLS, FARGO & CO'S EXPRESS." A double door flanked by stacked-stone pilasters stands behind and to the right of the 2 women. Pane-glass windows stand to the right and left of the door. An adjacent building at left sits recessed back from the Wells office.
