Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. According to the negative sleeve, this set of photographs is captured in color. The scans of these images are in black and white. Photograph looking across the grounds of Banff Spings Hotel towards the Bow River Valley from a terrace. The buildings and grounds of the Banff Springs Hotel stretch across the foreground and mid-ground. A veranda atop a portion of the building juts into frame at left. Beyond and below it, the hotel's pool area (partial view) is visible at left. A couple guests stand around the pool. From the pool area, the hotel grounds, including a walking path, extend along the bottom edge and towards the right. Beyond the hotel grounds, Banff National Park stretches into the distance. Bow River flows through the valley from center and back to the right. Pines grow along the base of Tunnel Mountain at left, which rises beyond the frame. Additional mountains stand in the distance at the far end of Bow River Valley. Four punched holes line the bottom edge at right. Text from negative sleeve: 2283. Color.
