Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. According to the negative sleeve, this set of photographs is captured in color. The scans of these images are in black and white. Photograph of Mertie West standing on a riverbank in front of the Bow Falls in Banff and Banff National Park. She stands in the near distance at center, in profile and facing right. She stands on the bank of the Bow River. The bank arcs back to the left and then arcs back again towards center. Several other visitors to the falls mill about on the bank behind and to the left of Mertie. The Bow River flows to the right of her and towards the camera. Directly behind Mertie, Bow Falls cascades. Pine tree-covered hills rise up from either side of the falls. Four punched holes line the bottom edge at right. Text from negative sleeve: 2290.
