Photograph of a beaver dam built in the middle of a pond, as viewed en route from Banff to Johnston Canyon. Tall grasses in the foreground line the near edge of a pond. Fallen logs jut into the pond from the lower left corner. The pond stretches across the image on an upward angle from right to left. In the near distance, at center, a beaver dam sits in the water. It is dome-shaped and is constructed of logs and sticks. Tall grasses and a few barren trees line the back edge of the pond in the background.
