Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of Mertie West and an unknown woman standing in the road and looking at a sign for the Kicking Horse Tea Room in Yoho National Park. The dirt road spans the width of the foreground. It curves on an angle towards the right as it extends back through center. In the near distance, right-of-center, Mertie West and another woman stand side-by-side in the road, with their backs to the camera. Rocky hillsides rise from both sides of the road. To the right of the women, a sign attached to a post rises from the hillside at right. The women appear to look towards the sign which reads, "KICKING HORSE TEA [horse figure in silhouette] ROOM LIGHT LUNCHES SEE [illegible text] SPIRAL TUNNEL." A bus is parked along the curve of the road in the distance at center and a few other sightseers stand in the middle of the road. Mountains are barely visible rising in the far distance.
