An out-of-focus photograph of Mertie West standing along the bank of a lake in Stanley Park and feeding ducks. Mertie West stands in the near distance at right. The bank she stands upon arcs back from the bottom edge and to the right. Mertie stands near the bank's edge, in profile and facing left. She holds a bag in the crook of her elbow. Ahead of her, the lake expands through the image. A dozen or so ducks cluster together in the water, just in front of Mertie. Boats sail the lake in the distance at center. The opposite bank lines the background and silhouetted mountains rise in the far distance.
