Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. According to the negative sleeve, this set of photographs is captured in color. The scans of these images are in black and white. Photograph of a large bed of poppies adorning the lawn in front of the Chateau Lake Louise hotel in Banff National Park. A large, tiered and sloped bed of poppies enters frame from the lower right corner and curves to the left, terminating near the left edge in the near distance. To the left of it, Adirondack chairs sit on a manicured lawn. Above the flower bed, Chateau Lake Louise stands in partial view, rising beyond the top frame. The Painter Wing enters frame from right and extends towards the left. Arched windows line the lowest level and balconies line a few of the upper levels. To the left of the hotel, pines stand in the background. Six punched holes line the right half of the bottom edge. Text from negative sleeve: Color 2314. Banff trip June 1947.
