Photograph of Mertie West posing on a terrace above the swimming pool at Chateau Lake Louise in Banff National Park. The stone-paved terrace extends on an upward angle from left to right along the bottom edge. Mertie West stands, right-of-center, along the terrace's edge. Alongside the terrace's edge and behind Merite, a large bed of poppies grow on a downward slope. At the base of the slope and behind Merite, the Chateau Lake Louise's swimming pool sits. It is viewed at an angle and from an elevated perspective. A wall encircles the pool area. Large, arched windows line the near wall and the left wall. Beyond the pool and to the right, a building stands. Beyond the pool and to the left, Lake Louise stretches into the distance. Pine trees blanket a mountainside that rises in the background. Five punched holes line the bottom edge. Text from negative sleeve: Color 2319. Banff trip July 1947.
