An out-of-focus photograph of Mertie West standing at the base of the statue, "Massasoit," by Cyrus E. Dallin at Cole's Hill in Plymouth, and reading the tablet. Cole's Hill's grounds stretch across the foreground and back through the image on an angle to the right. In the mid-ground, a walkway bisects the image on an angle. The bronze figure of sachem Massasoit stands atop a granite base at center. The figure of Massasoit stands in profile, facing right. Below the statue, Mertie West stands at right and reads the plaque affixed to the statue's granite base. She stands in profile, facing left as she looks down towards the tablet. Houses and trees line the street in the background. Four punched holes dot the upper right edge.
