Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. NRHP reference # 66000368 A slightly out-of-focus photograph of the west facade of Faneuil Hall in Boston, as viewed at a distance. Faneuil Hall stands in the distance, left-of-center. In front of it, Congress Street stretches across the bottom edge. In the near distance at center, a pedestrian walks through the street, towards the left. A car drives into the parking lot that sits in front and to the right of Faneuil Hall. Faneuil Hall is viewed straight-on from its western face. A canopy extends from the brick building and across the top of the ground floor. Both the second- and third-floors are lined by arched windows and pilasters. Topping the third-floor, a pediment sits. It is decorated with a semi-circular window at center that is flanked by oculi. At the eastern end of the building, a gilded cupola rises from the top of the hall. The Faneuil Hall Marketplace is visible stretching into the distance along the right side of the building. Storefronts stand in partial view along the right edge. Text from negative sleeve: [handwritten:] x [end handwritten] 2353.
