Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. A long-exposure photograph of the interior of the Alexandria-Washington Lodge no. 22 replica at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial. An open floor stretches from the bottom edge and towards the back wall at center. In the center of the floor, a relic in a glass case sits atop a polygonal pedestal. Beyond it, three tiered risers elevate a central chair. A faux doorway decorates the back wall immediately behind it. Fluted pilasters frame a portrait. Above the portrait, dentils ornament a pediment. Two additional portraits hang from either side of the back wall. A single riser juts out from the wall and wraps along the perimeter of the interior. Artifacts sit behind velvet ropes that line the the front of the riser. Visitors to the space are captured in motion standing in the right corner of the room.
