Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of the S. S. Del Norte mooring at Poydras Street Wharf in New Orleans, as viewed from an elevated perspective. The S. S. Del Norte sits below the camera at center. It is viewed from its stern. A semi-circular tarp covers the near portion of the stern. At the near end of the stern, an American flag hangs from the ship. Beyond the tarp, masts, rigging and cabins extend upward from the ship's top deck. At right, the wharf sits alongside and below the ship. A warehouse standing on the wharf enters frame from right and extends back towards center, disappearing behind the ship. Signage on the building reads, "[...] POYDRAS STREET WHARF DIV. [4] UP DIV. 5 DOWN." The Mississippi River flows to the left of the ship and into the distance. Large patches of white light flank the lower left and right edges. Text from negative sleeve: 2374.
