The Mississippi River flows across the foreground and into the near distance. In the mid-ground at center, the ship, Del Norte, idles in the river. It is viewed at a slight angle from its port side and faces left. Two tugboats sit alongside the ship. Beyond the ship, a wharf enters frame from left and stretches on an angle back into the distance at right. A large opaque patch of white sits in the lower right corner. Smaller, translucent patches dot the bottom edge. Text from negative sleeve: 2375. Eastern Trip October 1947 New Orleans. 1 Our City sight seeing bus 2 Oaks in park with moss hanging 3 Mertie West 4th from left in one of the cemeteries - St Louis 4 Praline vendor at the Cabildo 5 Remains brick house near Chalmette where General Parkham [sic] (British) died 6 Open canal in the city.
