Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of Forrest Whitaker's cabin at the corner of Talmadge Road and Lakeview Drive in Big Bear Lake, as viewed from the rear. The near landscape slopes downward as it extends into the distance. A wooded lot stretches across the foreground. At the base of the small slope, Forrest Whitaker's cabin stands in the near distance at center. It is viewed from the rear. A stone chimney stands against the rear exterior wall of the ranch-style cabin. The land ahead of the cabin remains flat and is dotted by pines as it extends towards the lake. Big Bear Lake sits in the distance. Mountains are visible rising from its far shore. Wide, opaque, white patches occupy the lower left and lower right corners, dissipating as they extend upwards along their respective edges. Text from negative sleeve: 2384. Big Bear Lake May 1948 1.
