Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Arranged about the G.O.P. elephant are Republican State Chairman Warren and the forty-four representative men and women on the uninstructed delegation. They are nominally pledged to Warren to comply with the law so they may be voted for as a group, but actually are free and untrammeled from any political strings. These outstanding men and women were drafted from all elements of the Republican party and are leaders in the commercial, social, civic and public life of California. They are committed only to the high resolve of selecting the best candidate and the best platform at Cleveland. A photograph of a portrait picture of Faries with a thin white slip of paper at the bottom of the portrait. Handwritten on negative: MCINTYRE FARIES Text from negative sleeve: 4618 - MCINTYRE FARIES McIntyre Faries Repub. politician warren delegation [stamped:] Apr 9 1936 Text from newspaper caption: McINTYRE FARIES
