McCrory - "magic eye" [stamped:] APR 9- 1936 Text from newspaper caption: Delos Thurber, sophomore at the University of Southern California, is seen here in a series of "Miracle Eye" photos during his high-jumping activities at Bovard Field. Thurber has cleared 6ft. 6in. and has his sights trained on a trip to Berlin. He competes Saturday against Fresno State at Fresno and is favored to win his pet event. Thurber formerly attended Glendale High School and was one of the best prep jumpers in the State. His uncle, Dr. Packard Thurber, is a member of the Trojan medical staff. Eddi Kienholz coached young Thurber at Glendale.
