Text from newspaper caption: Ernest W. Fischer, Jr., son of the principal of Chaffey Union High School, is proud of his pigeon—especially when the bird delivers a welcomed message to Upland residents. The pigeon carried an invitation to inspect the new Times Building and did its wining under direction of Capt. Ray R. Delhauer of the Signal Corps.
