Susan Kays was Bernice Susan Stchula and divorced Graydon C. Kays by 1940. Elizabeth Trethaway also divorced Edwin Trethaway by 1940. Lucy May Story became Lucy May Olson. Six women are pictured, wearing long flowing dresses (one woman in the background is unidentified). Left to right: Mrs. Elizabeth Trethaway, Miss Paula Hotchkin, Mrs. Emily Sullivan, Miss Lucy May Story, Mrs. Bernice W. Park, Mrs. Susan Kays. Trethaway is seated in a chair, Hotchkin is standing, leaning on the sofa, and the four other women are seated in a large sofa. Sullivan, Story, and Park have open books or binders on their laps (Story and Park are sharing one). Trethaway holds a baton, as if conducting the other women. A small round table is in the center of the chair and sofa, with a plant displayed on top of it. A heavy framed painting hangs above the sofa. An endtable can be seen on the right end of the sofa.
