The camera pans down towards the new Kate Page Crutcher Building of the Childrens Hospital during its dedication ceremonies. The single-story addition stands, off-center to the left, and within a courtyard of the Childrens Hospital. Green space occupies the area in front of it at center. Attendees of the dedication can be seen milling about the green space and on the building's small porches. Across the front of the new building, it reads, "KATE PAGE CRUTCHER BUILDING." Taller hospital wings rise behind and above it. Related to the article, "NEW ORTHOPEDIC INSTITUTION FORMALLY OPENED TO TREAT AFFLICTED YOUNGSTERS: NEW HOSPITAL DEDICATED TO CRIPPLED CHILDREN Civic Leaders Join Ceremony for Opening of Kate Page Crutcher Orthopedic Building," Los Angeles Times, 3 Apr. 1934: A1 A similar photograph of the same event appears with the caption, "At left is the first patient, James Croft, being dipped into the newly dedicated pool for orthopedic children in the Kate Page Crutcher Orthopedic Building at the Children's Hospital. Attending yesterday's ceremonies were, among others, left to right, Dr. Guy Cochran, chief of the hospital staff; Mrs. Crutcher, president of the board; Joseph Scott, president of the Community Chest, and Dr. John Wilson, in charge of the orthopedic department. At the right is one view of the dedication of the new building in which the new pool is housed," Los Angeles Times, 3 Apr. 1934: A1 Text from negative sleeve: Children's Hospital 8450
